About me.
I have always had a interest in taking photographs. Often daily. I feel photographs allow me to have a visual diary across the years - of people, places and special moments. I also have a strong interest in makeup – and photography is my way of documenting my progress. My other main interest is product design - and image manipulation enables me to visualise my ideas. In five years time I’ll have chosen my career path. I’d like a creative job, that’s fun, I enjoy and keeps me interested. |
Time flies...
My stop motion animation video features a honey bee that lands on a rose and makes a clock 'appear' for 60 seconds - it then disappears again.
I did this to represent the unique time you have to capture a moment in nature. This reprises a theme from my photography shoots |

Evaluation
Throughout the four shoots I undertook, I set out to capture a variety of natural and urban environments that contrasted with each other at the same time of day. As my work developed, I became more enthralled by the natural contexts - so I pursued this more.
Although the project still revolved around the same time of day, the photos represented a moment that couldn't be recreated.
All the images have been manipulated using PhotoShop - please see my individual shoot evaluations.
I cropped some of the images in order to draw attention to certain aspects and create a more compelling picture. The amount of manipulation varied depending upon the image itself. As i learnt more techniques during the project my edits became more technical eg 'Fairies, Flames and Bluebells' from the 4th shoot.
I was lucky that during the shoots the weather was good and warm - which made my nature shoots easier .

Legal Issues:
The nature shoots were either on common land or in private gardens, so access was OK and there was no need to gain permission to take photos. Royalty free music was sourced and used for the video. No bees were injured during this production. There are no copyright issues related to the publication on this website. |
Health & Safety
No issues of note. |
I enjoyed learning new techniques on Photoshop in order to manipulate my images. These are transferrable skills that I will continue to use in my makeup photography. I was able to meet the brief by taking my own interpretation of time and representing this using digital images and video. My project was in-keeping with the theme 'Time' by using a particular time of day and a moment in time, with my shoots and video revolving around this.
