ABOUT ME:
As an artist, I am enjoying Graphic Design and Photography, as I find it very open and I feel there aren't limits when creating in these subjects. I am very interested in producing logos and learning about the Graphic Design industry. In a few years, I would like to see myself working in a design business and would like to own my own business one day. |
EVALUATION:
I started off with using slow shutter speed to show time but after doing one shoot I didn't think I could create many more shoots that would link to this. This made me change my mind, and instead chose the topic of flowers.
For the theme of 'Time', I decided to recreate the states that a flower may go though and capture them. For all of my photographs, I edited them using Photoshop and used level-correction for most of them, which changed the brightness of the image. I also changed the vibrancy so that they all stood out a bit more.
Another editing method I used for my photographs was cropping them. I did this as my camera did not always zoom in as much I wanted, and therefore by cropping the image I could achieve the desired zoom I wanted. For the scans, to remove any imperfections I used the paint brush tool to go over them and make a clean background. I have also manipulated some of my images, with the main one being the timeline I did of a rose where I placed multiple stages of its lifespan on top of each other. This gave the image a different effect to all my other photographs, as it shows layers and gives a different look on flowers.

I enjoyed experimenting with different elements and learning new ways to edit my photos. I will be able to take these skills with me and use them in the future, as Photoshop can be used in Graphic Design which is my main interest. I feel I have met the briefs requirements as I have taken the title 'Time' and interpreted it in my own way shown in the digital images I have produced. To improve, I would explore more types of flowers to create a wider range of colours and species.
